An Unchanging Taste from an Unchanging Heart
This is “IWAYADO YOKAN,” one of Iwate’s premiere confectioneries, known throughout the country.(YOKAN is a bar of sweet jellied adzuki-bean paste.)
It is said that it all started during the Enpo era (1673-1681). The Date clan gave its permission to use the name of their castle, IWAYADO, to help preserve the art of this YOKAN.
“IWAYADO YOKAN” has continued in this tradition for more than 300 years.
Amongst this history, KAISHINDO was born as a master confectionary specializing in YOKAN.
This unchanging art, culminating in this unchanging flavor, has been consistently followed as the pillar for creation using traditional methods that have been passed down for generations.
